Such a wonderful Nursery I do wish they had more 4-inch vegetable plants but I understand the seasons are different up here

Visiting Gale’s is always a wonderful experience, even on busy days. Their selection is tremendous, their displays are beautiful and I find their prices on most items to be reasonable. It can also be a nice place to pick up a gift for a dear friend or teacher. They have lots of cute garden decorations, hanging baskets, and more. I have been visiting Gale’s for 20 years and plan on continuing my patronage for as long as reasonably possible.

I've been buying plants, flowers, mulch, fertilizers, Garden Magic Top Soil, you name it, I bought it, for 36 years from Gales in Westlake. This year I picked up 5 bags of their triple shredded black mulch that I used 2 years ago that is still black. I also picked up 5 bags of Garden Magic. The topsoil I put down a few hours after buying it. I put down 2 of the 5 bags of mulch also the same day after purchasing. Both of these items were old because the soil was brown not black and it was not soft and sandy as usual. It was dried out and had big chunks of wood. I let the manager know and he said he experienced the same when he bought it, he said it was the manufacturer, that explains the chunks of wood, but it soil itself was dried out!!!! He asked me to bring the bags in and he'd see what he could do .... The soil was already in my garden. Then I started to use the mulch in the "evening". I took pictures of it through the bag and put down 2 bags. Most of it was white and very dried out. It was as hard as brick and smelled like mold. The next morning the mulch was brown not black. It was clearly dried out. When I called Scott at Gales, he tried to tell me the sun did it....

HUGE GARDEN CENTER! it just keeps going and going. I feel like they should sell tickets at the door for botanical garden views. A Lot of different plants, knowledgeable employees makes for a fun trip to Gales.
